OUR APPROACH

Creating a cleaner future

Over the past 20 years of developing wind projects in Ireland, we fully understand the needs of Irish communities. Our projects are embedded in the local communities where our projects are located. Our approach has always been and will continue to be close co-operation and consultation with our local communities including the fisheries industry, public bodies and agencies and all stakeholders.  We take a long-term interest in the communities we work in.  Communication from the outset is very important to us. We want to engage with the local community to shape the development and design of the project in advance of any planning application.  Public consultation and engagement are our priority on the Manannan renewable energy project.  We work with local stakeholders, fisheries/seafood industry and community groups to support the localities where our wind farms are located. Our ethos is that by fostering relationships and collaborating with communities together we create a cleaner, greener, locally affluent, and more sustainable future.

"By fostering relationships and collaborating with communities together we create a cleaner, greener future..."

COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUNDS

Community Benefit

Under the Renewable Energy Support Scheme (RESS) for onshore and offshore wind by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications (DECC), our projects have and will have established community benefit funds.  DECC have responsibility to finalise the details of the requirements of community benefit funds for future rounds of Offshore Renewable Energy Support Schemes (ORESS) and Manannan will be guided by those requirements in establishing its community benefit fund.

Community Opportunities

Our organisation has organically grown in Ireland since the year 2000.  We value working with local supply chain companies and generating local economic benefit and employment.  This project will generate national and regional economic benefits including jobs by using local businesses and providing supply chain opportunities during construction and operations e.g. civil works, electrical engineering works (onshore and offshore), marine transport, survey vessels, design and engineering specialists, operations and maintenance services.  We look forward to working with the local supply chain in Ireland.  Please do get in touch with us.
